COMMUNITY SERVICE COMMITTEE – ROTARY CLUB OF BARRIE
“Service above Self” defines Rotary’s character and it is through the Community Service Committee that our members respond to the needs of Barrie and surrounding communities. Our Club’s efforts and activities improve our communities, its organizations and the lives of our neighbours. In so doing, Rotarians serve the public interest.
Community Service projects:
• Are relevant to the community
• Serve as a learning experience for Rotarians
• Identify our Club’s role in the community
• Determine how Rotarians can help with resources available to the Club and to the community
Our Committee invites requests for financial assistance from persons and organizations in financial need. These requests can be for medical, educational, cultural, social or other forms of assistance for an individual or group.
Requests for assistance are made to the Director of the Community Service Committee. The Committee will investigate the request and then make a recommendation to the Board of Directors of the Club for approval. Requests typically can take 45 to 60 days to be reviewed, investigated and approved.
