This project was initiated in 2000 and started in a local elementary school to heighten student and public awareness of hazardous liquids being disposed down street drains and going directly into the local watershed.
In this Environmental action project, students learn about water pollution and the impact it has on the local water body. Yellow Fish Road student volunteers paint “yellow fish” symbols next to storm drains and distribute fish-shaped brochures to nearby households to remind people that anything that enters the storm drain system ends up in the local water body.
This project is on-going by the Environmental Committee and has received excellent feedback and support.
