The 34th annual FUN RUN is right around the bend!!! Registration is now officially open. Please visit barriefunrun.com. You can register as individual, or as a corporate team. Simple... create your account, specify the fees, add $10 for t-shirts if you want, & your off to the races!

the satellite club is going strong!!!

Due to Covid 19 and in order to keep our members and the general public safe, Satellite Club meetings are being held via zoom at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday evenings.  If you are interested in participating please provide your name and contact information at the bottom of the page and a Rotarian will contact you.

highlights of more community & worldwide club initiatives

RVH - Janice Skot, President & CEO of the Royal Victoria Hospital, was presented with a cheque for $75,000. Janice
shared with us her thanks for all Rotary does for RVH, from financial support to the healing bush clean up and the opportunity for over 200 RVH’rs to run in Rotary’s Fun Run to name a few. 

 

Georgian College - President Dave McCullough presented Ann Smiley of Georgian College with an annual pledged payment of $25,000 bringing the club's total to date to $200,000 of our total $250,000 pledge.

 

Rotary Earth Day - PDG Peter Dean opened the Earth Day program by presenting a cheque to Dennis Johnson of the Friends of Fort Willow for $2,850. Rotary has been working with them for 13 years donating nearly $25,000 over that time to support their initiatives. Click here for more Earth Day happenings...

 

Rotary St. John's CPR Course - The public is invited to learn about helping a person in distress. It is a hands on course taught by the St. John's ambulance and our Rotary volunteers. We provide a $1000 to pay for instruction materials, instructors and facility rental.

Seasons Centre for Grieving Children - This organization provides youth who have lost a parent guidance and help in adjusting to their new reality. We provided $1400 for a new sign, painting and kitchen repairs.

Child Welfare PAC - The club provided $5000 to help advocate for a progressive child welfare system by providing real-life expertise, informed research, and effective advocacy so that all youth can realise their full potential. The PAC’s official launch during advocacy day at Queen’s Park attracted the Minister of Children and Youth Services, Honorable Michael Coteau, who made an enthusiastic public commitment at Queen’s Park to work with the Child Welfare PAC to

achieve their goals. Learn more...

Christmas Cheer - We donated $2,500 and many member's hours to help brighten the Christmas of those in need. 

Junior Constable Camp - Our club supports the Barrie City Police's camp for students who otherwise wouldn't have a chance to attend summer camp. Con. Hopper, Parkin & Talarigo's presentation to the club made it clear our $1,000 contribution is going to a great cause. Click here to learn more.

DECA - DECA is an international association of high school and college students and teachers of marketing, management and entrepreneurial studies. Our club is donating $5,000 to the 2018 Innisdale DECA program that will support the club's regional and international competition participation.

St. Joseph Archaeology Club - Our club provided $525 to assist with busing students to Fort Willow to assess sites for their 2019 archeology dig this spring.
